A growing void in a shrinking world

Once upon a time, not so long ago, our life extended no further than the outskirts of our town or village. It was slow and predictable ,not relying on speed of a Wi-Fi connection. You knew people around you by name, stories; understood their smiles and tears in their eyes, recognized them not by profile pictures or screen names. Every birth, death and occasion was experienced ,not marked on the calendar only. In the mornings, when I’m sitting out there with my coffee, I can’t help but notice how much nature reflects my own life, as an individual and as a mom. Chronicle 2: The Weeds We Ignore You learn a lot in the garden, like how important it is to deal with weeds while they’re still small. It’s much easier to pull them out before they take root and spread into everything else you’re trying to grow. It’s the same with problems; in relationships or in the community. The sooner we notice them, the easier they are to fix. Chronicle 3: Even the Strong Need Care A garden isn’t just made by watering plants or putting out pretty pots. It’s about truly caring for what you want to see grow. Like tender shoots, ...
